Solar installers
Rooftop solar systems are currently the most popular form of embedded generation used by our customers. With each installation, we’re facilitating rapid growth in the amount of solar capacity on our network.
How residential solar photovoltaic (PV) systems are installed and the settings used on their inverters are critical to ensuring customers get the most for their investment in this technology. Please make sure you engage early with our team to check on network export limits for your clients.
Smart inverter settings
There are strict standards for the settings for new smart inverters when they are installed and commissioned.
Model Standing Offer
Solar installers are responsible for submitting a Model Standing Offer to us on an end-use customer’s behalf.
Emergency backstop for excess energy events
As more Victorians install rooftop solar, we are changing the way we operate our network. From 1 July 2024, new and upgrading solar customers will be required to install a system that allows solar exports to be remotely reduced or stopped (known as curtailment) if there is an excess of energy in the network.
